STATE ROAD 528 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
SR 528 Beachline Main Plaza Conversion
In January 2008, the Expressway Authority began converting the Beachline Main Toll Plaza east of SR 417 to accommodate Express Lanes. Once completed this $26.8 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in March 2009, will feature four Express Lanes (two in each direction) and eight cash/receipt lanes (four in each direction).
SR 528/Narcoossee Road Interchange Expansion
In September 2007, the Expressway Authority began expanding the SR 528 - Narcoossee Road Interchange. Work includes replacing the existing bridges with new wider bridges and expanding the interchange ramps. Additionally, new traffic lights are being installed to improve safety for motorists at the Narcoossee Road intersection. Work on this $23.7 million project is scheduled to finish in March 2009.
SR 528 Dallas Boulevard Plaza Construction
The Expressway Authority is building a new $34 million Dallas Boulevard Express Lane Plaza approximately seven miles east of the SR 528 Main Plaza. The Dallas Boulevard Plaza is being designed in conjunction with the Innovation Way project, in particular to accommodate westbound SR 528 traffic that would be exiting at Innovation Way prior to the SR 528 Main Plaza. Construction on this project is scheduled to begin in late 2008 or early 2009.
The Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise in summer 2007 began widening the Beachline West in the summer of 2007. For more information on that Turnpike project, click here  .
