Marco Peña, Board Member
On July 15th, 2013, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Marco Peña to the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority.
Mr. Peña moved to Orlando in 1998 to attend the University of Central Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, and later earned his master's degree at the University of Minnesota. While at UCF he served two terms as Student Body President and as a charter member of the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees. He also served as vice chair of the Florida Student Association and established UCF's Multicultural Student Center, for the first time providing a programming and academic advising hub for the campus' many diverse groups.
Mr. Peña has experience working in corporate management positions for two Fortune 500 companies - Office Depot and Target - building brands and bringing top products to market. Most recently, he has experience working to advance medical research, education, and care at two of the nation’s largest healthcare systems including Florida Hospital where he currently works in Growth Strategy, developing business plans and leading strategy development to improve the continuum of care in a ten county market.
Mr. Peña has been committed to supporting the Central Florida community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Fair, Health Council of East Central Florida, Orlando Mayor Glenda Hood’s Citizen Corps Council, Trustee member of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, Fort Gatlin District Committee of the Boy Scouts, UCF College of Business Alumni Chapter Board, and Puerto Rican Leadership Council.
