(ORLANDO, FL) – Motorists should be alert for nighttime road closures beginning Thursday night, July 26 at the new State Road 429 (Daniel Webster Western Beltway) / State Road 414 (John Land Apopka Expressway) interchange as crews finish final paving and striping. Once this work is complete, drivers will be able to go directly from northbound SR 429 onto the new permanent eastbound SR 414 lanes. This is the last major step toward completing the new full interchange between SR 429 and SR 414.
Detour signs will be posted to assist drivers. The scheduled road closures and detours are:
· Northbound SR 429 between SR 414 and County Road 437A (Ocoee-Apopka Road), on Thursday night, July 26 and Friday night, July 27 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists using exit 29 will be detoured via CR 437A. Motorists traveling northbound on SR 429 on Saturday will be able to go directly onto the new permanent eastbound SR 414 lanes.
· Westbound SR 414 between Keene Road and CR 437A on Saturday night, July 28 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. SR 414 motorists exiting at Keene Road will follow detour signs to Apopka or SR 429.
Bad weather and other unforeseen circumstances could delay or prolong work.
